File Viewer Plus (operated by Sharpened Productions) collects minimal personal information. When you purchase a license or register for support, we collect your name and email address. We do not collect data about the files you open or edit — your documents remain entirely private on your device.
We use your email address to deliver your license key, send important product updates such as security patches, and respond to support requests. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
The File Viewer Plus website uses privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are most helpful to visitors. No personally identifiable information is collected by our analytics provider, and no cross-site tracking cookies are set on your browser.
When you activate File Viewer Plus, the software contacts our license server to verify your key. This transmits your license key and a hardware fingerprint to confirm the activation count does not exceed your license limit. No file names, document contents, or browsing history are ever transmitted.
Our website may set session cookies required for the shopping cart and account login to work correctly. We do not use persistent tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.
We retain purchase records for the duration required by applicable tax law, typically seven years. Support correspondence is retained for two years. You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting support.
